« For my first solo show in Japan since my retrospective exhibition in 2011 at the Hara Museum, I wanted to continue my exploration of nature in a contemplative approach by presenting new abstract and sensuous artworks: the Kikus, inspired by the Chrysanthemum flower. The chrysanthemum flower is one of the most important and symbolic flowers in Japan. Known as the flower that blooms during autumn as the winter approaches it has come to be a symbol of longevity and rejuvenation. I very much like this idea of a flower blooming against all odds, fighting to marvel as its surrounding has already began to fall asleep. It is the last blooming flower of the Year. »

"I had the chance to collaborate with ditpyique in a total freedom, we took the fragrance of my personal rose “Othoniel Rosa” as a base and worked on it to express the wildness of the perfume, its grand delicacy and originality. Making my own perfume is a project I have in mind since a lot of years. For me it is a dream to enter in the privacy of the people who love my work and also the opportunity for the people who do not know me to discover my work, it is an unique chance to open my art to a new public. For me the smell of the rose was a real discovery as its perfume is really unique and not what one expects from a common rose. “Othoniel Rosa” is a work of art and captures beautifully the fragrance of the flower. It is like a self portrait, and the fragrance of Othoniel rosa is so unique with this note of pepper and freshness."
